The Initial Game Pass Games of 2026 Show Xbox Remains Committed.
In numerous discussions, fans keep sounding the knell for the Xbox brand. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering on PS5 topics unprecedentedly. The past year represented complete chaos for the tech giant's gaming arm. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it's evident that Xbox remains determined to engage players with quality releases on its premier subscription.
The Available Now Titles
The two games that are immediately available today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's deserving of attention.
Major Titles on the Horizon
Come mid-January, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that deviates from the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "an ideal blend of horror and action."
Compelling Indie Titles
However, the more modest titles arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year might get its hooks in you in about 15 minutes flat.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the makers of Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to anticipate.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that validate the subscription alone. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and new-ish games that failed to receive the spotlight they warranted upon launch — transforming them into perfect candidates to get a second chance on Game Pass.
Be prepared to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
