Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two men have been charged following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A young child was one of the people hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were subsequently released.
The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
